TERRA Hosts Lecture on AI-Driven Water Pollution Monitoring at the University of Thessaly

On 14 May 2026, the University of Thessaly hosted a lecture titled “Water Pollution Monitoring and Forecasting with Deep Learning”, presenting ongoing research and innovation activities related to environmental monitoring and intelligent climate services within the TERRA Project.

The lecture focused on the use of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning techniques for monitoring water pollution and forecasting environmental conditions, highlighting how advanced data-driven approaches can support more effective water management and climate resilience strategies.

The presentation was delivered by Dionysis Giannaropoulos, Research Associate at the Intelligent Pervasive Systems (iPRISM) research group, Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, University of Thessaly.

The event brought together members of the academic and research community and created an opportunity for discussion around emerging technologies for environmental monitoring and sustainable water resource management.
