TERRA Showcased at ICMLT 2026 through Scientific Presentation and Keynote Contribution

TERRA was proudly represented at the 11th International Conference on Machine Learning Technologies (ICMLT 2026), held in Berlin, Germany, from 20 to 22 May 2026. The event brought together researchers, academics, and industry experts from around the world to discuss the latest developments in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data-driven technologies.

As part of the conference programme, the University of Glasgow (UGLA) contributed to TERRA’s dissemination efforts through the presentation of the scientific paper entitled “Mamba–LSTM for Long-Horizon Shoreline Prediction using Satellite Imagery.” The work highlights innovative approaches for long-term shoreline forecasting using advanced machine learning techniques and satellite-based Earth observation data, directly supporting TERRA’s objectives in climate intelligence and environmental monitoring.

In addition, UGLA delivered a keynote presentation entitled “Reliable Federated Learning Beyond Accuracy,” addressing emerging challenges and opportunities in trustworthy and robust AI systems. The keynote provided valuable insights into the future of federated learning and its role in enabling reliable, distributed artificial intelligence solutions.

The conference attracted a diverse international audience from the scientific and higher-education communities, including researchers, academics, PhD students, and professionals working in machine learning and related digital technologies. Through both the scientific paper presentation and keynote address, TERRA gained visibility among experts actively engaged in cutting-edge AI research and innovation.

Participation in ICMLT 2026 aligns closely with TERRA’s mission to leverage advanced artificial intelligence and data-driven approaches for climate and environmental services. The presented research contributes to the project’s work on forecasting methodologies and intelligent environmental monitoring, while the keynote strengthened awareness of TERRA within the broader AI research ecosystem.
