TERRA holds 6th Project Board Meeting
Date: 21 April 2026
Place: Online
The TERRA consortium successfully held its 6th Project Board (PB) Meeting on 21 April 2026, bringing together partners from across Europe in an online session dedicated to assessing progress and preparing for the upcoming interim review.
The meeting was structured around the Interim Review presentation format, ensuring that all Work Packages (WPs) and demonstrators are aligned with project objectives, timelines, and expected impacts.
The session opened with an overview of the meeting objectives and agenda, led by the coordinator, the University of Thessaly (UTH), followed by a comprehensive review of each Work Package.
Key discussions included:
- WP1 – Project Coordination (UTH): Progress on overall project management and coordination activities, including alignment with reporting requirements.
- WP2 – Requirements, Specifications & Architecture (BI2S): Updates on system architecture and technical specifications forming the backbone of the TERRA platform.
- WP3 – Intelligent Platform Development (VTG): Advances in the development of the AI-driven platform components.
- WP4 – Platform Integration & Validation (CITE): Integration efforts and validation processes ensuring system coherence and functionality.
- WP5 – Demonstration Activities (BDS): Status of pilot implementations and demonstration planning across use cases.
- WP6 – Outreach, Exploitation & Impact Creation (INC): Progress on communication, dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and exploitation strategies.
In the second half of the meeting, partners presented detailed updates on the three core TERRA demonstrators:
- Demonstrator 1 (UTH): Assessment of water contamination in coastal areas and across the water cycle.
- Demonstrator 2 (BDS): Detection of illegal human activities in harbour environments leveraging Copernicus services.
- Demonstrator 3 (UGLA): Development of a Digital Twin for monitoring coastal changes using satellite remote sensing.
Each presentation was followed by constructive discussions, allowing partners to exchange feedback, address challenges, and refine their approaches ahead of the interim review.
The meeting confirmed that TERRA is progressing steadily, with strong collaboration across partners and clear alignment between technical development, demonstration activities, and impact creation efforts.
As the project moves forward, the consortium remains focused on delivering an integrated, intelligent platform that transforms Earth Observation data into actionable climate services, addressing critical challenges in water management, coastal resilience, and environmental monitoring.
Stay tuned for more updates as TERRA continues to advance its innovative solutions.
