TERRA Holds 3rd Project Board Meeting in Gdańsk

Date: 26 May 2025
Location: Gdańsk Stadium, Poland

As part of TERRA’s active presence at the EU Space Days 2025, the consortium gathered in Gdańsk for the 3rd Project Board Meeting, hosted at the prestigious Gdańsk Football Stadium, specifically in the “INVEST GDA LOUNGE”. This face-to-face plenary meeting brought together key partners from across Europe to review progress, evaluate project milestones, and plan upcoming technical and demonstration activities.

The meeting took place on Monday, 26 May 2025, just ahead of the main EU Space Days programme, providing an ideal setting for collaborative discussions aligned with broader developments in European space and Earth observation initiatives.

Meeting Agenda Highlights:

The agenda reflected the comprehensive nature of the TERRA Horizon Europe project, with sessions covering:

    • Project coordination and management (led by UTH)
    • System requirements, specifications, and architecture (BI2S)
    • Platform development progress (VTG)
    • Demonstration activities focused on real-world applications:
      • Water contamination monitoring in coastal and inland water bodies
      • Detection of illegal activities in harbour areas using Copernicus services
      • Development of a digital twin for coastal change monitoring
    • Outreach, impact, and exploitation planning (INC)
    • Platform integration and validation strategy (CITE)

In addition to the technical discussions, the consortium engaged in a forward-looking dialogue on how to maximise the societal and environmental impact of TERRA’s intelligent platform for climate services.

Strengthening Collaboration

The event concluded with an informal social gathering in Gdańsk’s historic Old Town, allowing participants to strengthen partnerships and continue discussions in a more relaxed setting.

TERRA’s presence at EU Space Days 2025—both through this plenary meeting and participation in the official programme—highlights its ongoing commitment to supporting the evolution of Copernicus services through cutting-edge technology, strong partnerships, and a clear focus on impact.

We thank all partners for their active contributions and look forward to the next stages of development and demonstration.
