TERRA at the Coast-R Network+ Year 2 Event

Date: 11–12 September 2025

Where: University of Glasgow ARC

TERRA, represented by the University of Glasgow (UGLA), took part in the Coast-R Network+ Year 2 Event, held at the University of Glasgow ARC from 11–12 September 2025.

The event brought together 100–150 researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the UK, all engaged in advancing knowledge and solutions for coastal and marine challenges. Over two days, participants joined plenary talks, thematic discussions, and networking sessions designed to foster collaboration and share insights.

During the networking sessions, TERRA’s activities and objectives were presented informally, with UGLA highlighting its cutting-edge work on coastal digital twins and shoreline detection. These discussions provided valuable opportunities to showcase TERRA’s contributions to both academic and practitioner communities.

Participation in Coast-R was particularly impactful for TERRA, as the Network+ serves as a key platform to engage with the wider UK coastal and marine research community. By raising awareness among national stakeholders, TERRA strengthened its visibility and laid the groundwork for future collaborations on coastal resilience and digital twin research.

Importantly, engagement with policymakers and practitioners at the event reinforced TERRA’s applied relevance and alignment with national priorities in coastal resilience. The event created meaningful synergies with complementary research initiatives, further embedding TERRA within the UK’s coastal and marine innovation landscape.
