TERRA to Showcase Intelligent Climate Services at Factory 2026

The TERRA project will participate in Factory 2026, a major innovation event bringing together industry leaders, startups, researchers, investors, and institutional stakeholders to explore the future of space-enabled innovation. The event will take place on 11 June 2026 at the International Space University (ISU) Central Campus in Strasbourg, France, under the theme “The Orbit: A New Opportunity for Industry and Health.”

Organised by Paddock Academy in partnership with ISU and BioValley France, Factory 2026 is expected to welcome more than 300 participants from across Europe and beyond, fostering discussions on emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, and the societal impact of space-based solutions.

As part of the programme, TERRA will host a dedicated interactive workshop entitled:

TERRA Live: Intelligent Climate Services from Space

The session will present the latest developments of the TERRA project through live demonstrations of its three innovative Earth Observation (EO)-driven product chains:

  • Greece: Coastal water quality monitoring and forecasting services;
  • Poland: Maritime security and illegal discharge detection solutions;
  • Scotland: Digital Twin technologies for coastal erosion monitoring and resilience planning.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore how advanced EO data, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies can support environmental monitoring and decision-making across diverse geographical and operational contexts.

Beyond the demonstrations, the workshop will facilitate an interactive discussion addressing one of the key challenges in Earth Observation innovation: the “last-mile” gap between EO data and effective policy action. Participants will exchange perspectives on how climate services can be translated into actionable intelligence that supports policymakers, public authorities, and local stakeholders in addressing environmental challenges.

The TERRA workshop will take place from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM and aims to stimulate dialogue between technology developers, end-users, researchers, and decision-makers on the future of intelligent climate services.
